6TH PERIOD: GYM CLASS April 16, 2007

Couple weeks ago, I met up with the fellas from Gym Class Heroes at their video shoot for "Shoot Down the Stars," their next single off their As Cruel As School Children album. I don't know how they did it, but they managed to get footy for the music video AND rock the shit out of the Anahiem House of Blues all in one day!

JAPAN: DAY 5 April 08, 2007

Wow, I'm totally exhausted from staying up all day and night in Japan because there are so many things to do... and nothing seems to be redundant! I will most definitely reconsider staying much longer next time... Maybe August?

I visited 90% of all the stores I wanted to visit... such as Beams, UNDFTD, Stussy, Sophnet and UK's GAP-Like store "TOP MEN." One thing I wish I brought more of was MONEY! There are so many thing you can't get in the states, but in Japan... wow... the availability is endless! I copped two Vans Sk8-His I've never seen in my life before... and for some odd reason the price was reasonable. However, the food in Japan is no joke. Its quite expensive, only because the quality of the product backs it up.

In the 8 days I was here, I was fortunate enough to make some Japanese friends. They took me around and showed me their culture and a mere glimpse of Japan. Even though it was a mere glimpse of Japan, I must say Japan is astonishingly beautiful. I am quite anxious to see what else Japan has to offer.

Tomorrow is my last day in Japan and I'll be flying back around 12PM which leaves today my only day to do some last minute stuff... You know, like breaking my bank by purchasing gifts for friends and family back home. I knew I shouldn't have showed off that I was visiting Japan, now I have to endure my consequence... Hahaha, you guys are probably thinking "cheapskate" - Well, not really... more of like.. I am totally broke ( ; But thats okay, opportunities like this don't happen frequently. However, I will never hesistate to tell them all the good things about Japan and would highly highly highly highly highly highly highly recommend Japan to anyone! Despite this is my first time im Japan, I was fortunate enough to visit some really dope spots and can sort of grasp what to do and where to go next time. So if you guys have plans on visiting Japan, hit me upb I'd be more than delighted to share you my thoughts and suggestions.

So anyway, without further adue, let me show you guys the photos of what I did today...

JAPAN DAY: 4 April 06, 2007

Yeah, you guys are probably wondering what happened to "JAPAN DAY: 3" - Well, it was a disastrous day in Japan... Why? It freakened rained! Let me give you guys a synopsis of what happened...

I was in Harajuku visiting the streetwear shops when it rained! Freaken eh! Totally unexpected... Tons of people didn't have umbrellas... including me! So I went to go purchase one at a local 7-Eleven store. My camera got sorta wet... but now its working again (Phew, Allen would have killed me) I couldn't take photos throughout the day, however I did visited Neighborhood, BBC, Chapter, Emerica, Vintage Shops, U.B.H, Atlas, Underground, Basement, Swagger, New Era and a bunch of other shops I can't really think of right now. Oh yeah, and of course.. the Supreme... Let me tell you, Supreme's customer service is horrible... and I'm sure you guys are aware of that already... But thats how they do business and thats their style. I was about to a pair of Supreme denims, but the dude didn't want to help me find my size... So I left without even saying "Peace!" ( ;

Then I visited this big vintage store in the Harajuku Square called "Kinju." On rainy days in Japan, stores will put out umbrella holders where you hold your umbrellas... So I placed mine in the holders and walked into the store like usual. When I walked out... someone stole mine! Ahhh!! I had to walk around so soaked from the rain, I have the cold now =/ To make the situation even worse, my temporary cell phone ran out of batteries!!! Ahhhh!!! How the hell is my friend suppose to meet me if he doesn't know where I'm at... How about, I don't even know where the freak I was at either! But for some reason, I remembered that I had a charger in my backpack... So I went to a local cafe and asked the staff there kindly if I could use their outlet to charge my cell pone until I had enough battery to go...

*sigh* - Rainy days in Japan aren't so bad if you're a damn native! So yeah, after that... I met up with a business man that owned like 60 clothing stores in Japan for some dinner in Shibuya - Good lord, every food I've had has been superb and amazingly, no stomach aches yet *knocks on wood*. And ladies and gentlemen, that closed off for "JAPAN DAY: 3" - Now lets see "JAPAN DAY: 4" ( ;

JAPAN: DAY 1 April 02, 2007

I finally decided to contribute to the Orisue blog, so I'm giving all you readers and fans some insight and feeling about who I am, I guess you can say a more personal experience.

For a long time, I've been intrigued by Japanese culture and I've dreamt about visiting Japan, so you can imagine how anxious I was while on a 2 hour standby before hopping onto another plane to my destination. What a freaken teaser, huh?

So why a trip to Japan right now? Well, I pretty much figured, “what a perfect idea it’d be to leave in the middle of design season (a season which I’m struggling to finish up Spring 2008 designs) and take a mini-vacation.” I know smart person I am huh? Oh, and on top of that, I also have a photo shoot to coordinate, but the guys at the office can manage.

Man, thinking back on my decision to go to Japan, I can totally tell it’s going to be a disaster. HAHA just kidding guys. Honestly, it was risky to take this vacation when I have so much work that needs to be done back home, but I truly needed this small break. I mean, despite the fact that it’s mostly for fun, I'll still be conducting business and building relationships with my fellow Japanese friends.
