A UNI PERFORMANCE

For anyone that couldn't make it out to UNI's performance last week, it was nothing short of amazing. Their loyal fans had a blast and the performers before UNI were pretty wild. Like any UNI event, they packed the house and a lot of people that wanted to go couldn't. We appreciate everyone that came out and showed their love. Since a lot of the fans couldn't make it out to the last event, we have something for you.

ANOTHER EVENT! It's going down this Saturday @ Kress. AND IT'S FREE!!!!!! Of course, Orisue will be providing gift baggies thrown out on stage to all the fans that showed up last time.

Here's a little video of what went down at the last event.

WHITE CASTLE CHALLENGE

White Castle is sort of an East Coast thing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but that's from a west coast perspective. Kind of like Dunkin' Donuts. California just doesn't get that type of food out here and that's probably for the better. Let me explain.

Since it was the first trip out there for Wally and Jeff, Wexx insisted that we make a stop by White Castle and take the challenge. Of what? The Crave Case Challenge. A suitcase filled with nothing more then 30 little buggers. Harold and Kumar did it, so why couldn't we?

In the end, we were defeated and only finished 10 burgers out of 4 people. White Castle Wins.

AN EAST COAST QUICKIE

It's been so busy last week with all the work I had backed up from being away in NYC and Boston. The trip was fairly short and I honestly didn't get the chance to do all of the things I had to do. Between a trade show that we were a day early for to visiting our closet friends, we really had little time. This was Wally and Jeff's first trip out to big apple and it was eventful to say the least. In the end, work was more important and that's what we had gotten done along with all the fun in between.

Here's some pictures of the trip:

The Reluctant fan. We came up to this guy at the airport to give him a high five, but he was a little timid. Maybe it was because we all ganged up on him like wolves over a sheep. If I ever see someone on the streets wearing Orisue, I always try to say hi. So don't be scared!

Pizza's the first priority.

First stop was SneakerHub in Jeeerrsseeyy. What a beautiful store and an impressive selection.

I look like a deer in headlights. Everytime I come through, their selection of sneakers are crazy. This is just the basement. Above this was the regular stock room with even more.

Jeff is documenting his life through the collection of his tattoos while traveling with us. I'm surprised he hasn't gotten an infection yet.

Blades. They were one of our first accounts on the east coast and have definitely repped us hard. Shout out to Dave, sorry we didn't get a chance to get up.

Dunkin' Donuts. Heartburn Heaven.

Fashawn was out there on the east doing his thing as you can see in our post before this. We had to get up with him in to sit down for a drink. And he's not even of age. They were easy going.

ON THE GRIZZY.

If you haven't noticed, our boy Fashawn has been on his grizzy! He's in NY this week doing interviews with the who's who of hiphop radio, from Green Lantern to Premo to Peter Rosenberg. In between time he's even gotten time to hit the stage. Check him out in the clip below hitting the stage with The World Famous Roots crew.

ATTIC x FORMULA DRIFT

Before Orisue, most of my time was spent in the studio designing flyers, logos, and websites for a lot of people in the import car scene. That was obviously a long time ago. This past weekend, I went to Attic in Buena Park (another MUST GO TO location in Orange County) to support their Formula Drift event. If you're not familiar already, Attic is very close and tied in this scene.

Personally, I didn't think this scene was as big as it was years ago, but just showing up I realized how far off I was. It's not that the scene has shrunk or anything, it's just that I wasn't into it. Needless to say, Attic X Formula Drift was holding it down harder then ever and their event was fun as hell.

Here's some pictures of what I captured before I got too caught up and forgot snapping shots:

First, the large and impressive Attic sign. It's like driving on the freeway and looking for a pit stop. You can't miss it!

Since most of the guys were out in the east, I went to the event by myself. I was immediately accommodated by a very fine gentleman by the name of Pesci. He writes the Attic Blog. CHECK IT OUT. Great guy. Pesci made me feel like a highlighted important person at the event even though I was actually rolling all alone with zero posse.

I was easily distracted by this BBQ grill. The last time I remember seeing something like this was back in high school when I went to my friend's Samoan luaus.

Another distracting sight was Ms. Julia Vaughn. She runs the blog at Triumvir called On Second Thought. A lot of buzz has been going around about Julia. Apparently, some have labeled her the hottest female in our scene thus far? I can't say much for everyone, but she's more than just looks, gentleman.

I don't think I could ever drive a car like that...

And this... Although both are very nice and probably worth more than my car x 3840938493845809345.

Our boys at Triumvir came out to support in full effect. It was really easy to spot these dudes... BECAUSE THEY ARE ALWAYS IN BLACK!!! BLACK, BLACK, BLACK!

James (Attic), thanks for the invite to such a great event... Until next time!

A LOVE SUPREME

If you're not familiar with U-N-I by now, let's get you up to speed.

MEET THE ARTISTS: Thurz and YO. The ying and the yang. The alpha and omega of what is UNI. There's a lot to say about the guys, so I'll keep it short. They are HUNGRY!!!! As they progress in their career, you'll see what I mean. So let's turn our attention to the guys in the background, holding it down.

THE MANAGER: Chris London. You can't see his head in this picture, but he has no hair. Managing any artist is probably harder then anything else. Trust me, I have to deal with two of them on the daily and it's no fun. I'm not saying that Yo or Thurz are temperamental, but artists have a certain vision and it's the managers job to help facilitate that vision. Chris works hard and is as hungry as the guys.

THE GO-TO-GUY: Geoff (sounds exactly like Jeff, but don't tell him that). When I first met the guy, I wasn't too sure what he did for the team. I just knew he was an important member, until that day they came in and I asked him. "What are you doing, Jeff?" and he goes "Everything else." That's classic.

So the guys came through to talk about several upcoming projects that we're working with them. If you look at Mike's face, this is an example of two artists colliding. Either that or he really needs to take a poo.

Here's a sneak of what's to come... and it all begins with their signature.

MORE IMPORTANT,... the guys are releasing their first full length album called "A LOVE SUPREME" that will be out available for a free directly to from their site. If that isn't "a love supreme" than, I don't know what is.

HERE's THE LINK!

The very following day, UNI will be hosting in conjunction with Myspace and us, an album release party. The first 20 guests of the night will get a signed copy of their album as well as a special gift bag from Orisue. Make sure you come out and support!

CHANGE IS GOOD

Since there was Orisue, there was Avenue representing us in our backyard, Orange County. For 15 years, The Store has been holding it down for independent clothing companies, like ourselves, and is still kicking ass and taking names. If you ever get a chance to come down to our neck of the woods, there are several secret spots that most people wouldn't know if they didn't live here. This spot being one of them. When you do roll through, say what's up to Steve, our unofficial historian in streetwear. Or if you run into Artmonk, the master carpenter (he built a complete house by hand, a stool for the Dalai Lama and two fun boxes for us).

For their 15th anniversary, Avenue took a step in a new direction by changing their store's look in a very nice way and updated their name to Orange County General Store (although you can't get generally everything, like condoms or lotion, but generally things in the world of clothing, skating, or art). It's OCGS for short, or funny enough, when you call the store, they'll answer with just The Store. (If you get prank called Steve, don't blame me!)

This weekend, they'll be hosting a party at The Crosby with our friends, Wendy City and Yooks. Even more awesome, UNI will be performing! Check out the flyer below.

SAN FRANCISCO ADVENTURES

Just this past weekend, we took a last minute cruise (which turned out to be a 9hr drive) up to San Francisco to support our friends, FM and Jin at a show called ISA. Between blood, vomiting, tattoos and a lot of trees, the weekend was nothing short of amazing so I'll let the pictures tell the story in chronological order.

First and foremost, SF has the nicest weather. Springs in session. And we had to go and visit the park.

Treed within Trees was amazing.

Sticker bombin' was in session, but do you see that little hook?

Hand vs Hook? Hand loses.

Let's let Jeff tell the actual story of what really happened...

Now normally, we wouldn't leave anyone behind, but the point of the trip was for the show. Sad Face Jeff was a little upset that he couldn't make it. And after 4 hrs, we came back to scoop him up. What a champ. Could you see the agony in is face as we left him at the ER?

The concert was held at the Palace Of Performing Arts. The crowd was huge and the whole vibe was amazing. Glow sticks? Crazy.

Shortly afterwards, Jin followed up FM's performance to close out the night.

Wally had a little tattoo envy from the other day when Jeff and I had our tattoos, so for this trip, he stepped up and took it to the next level. Right hand Orange (do I really need to explain).

Left hand mustache. Yes, that really happened.

Tom (Partytilam) threw up. So did Wally.

Goodbye SF, until we meet again.

SO WHAT'S ODD ABOUT THIS VIDEO?

Could it be that Soulja Boy is delusional and pretending to be a crocodile hunter?

Could it be that he has the worst australian accent? Real talk. Call the office and ask for Crocodile Doan for an Aussie accent. Actually, don't call.

Could it be that not once, and I mean ONCE did I see a snake, and furthermore, if he was a crocodile hunter, then why was he hunting a snake the whole time?

Or could it be your boy, Soulja Boy is actually wearing a size Large?!?!?!? You heard it. I saw it and didn't believe. SOULJA BOY IS WEARING A LARGE in our Reeves long sleeve button-up.

EVOLVE AND REVOLVE

With any brand, growth, change and innovation is only natural. It's the evolution of any company battling to stay unique in an overcrowded marketplace. From creative marketing initiatives, to diversifying distribution channels, all are means for businesses (aka brands like ourselves) to introduce the world to what we're all about. For this Spring 2009, we've brought on REVOLVEclothing.com, an authority in the high-end/contemporary market.

A photo shoot to introduce Orisue to patrons from Revolve was only suiting. It was really impressive to see other companies depiction when styling Orisue garments together. Below you'll find from our Spring 2009 collection, the Seymore hoodie in orange, Elliot nylon jacket in bronze, and the Ronin denim in grey.
